Alice Cann will celebrate her 90th birthday on November 11, 2009. She was born in Terraville, SD on November 11, 1919 to Ida and Andrew Aspen. She graduated from Lead High School in 1937 and Married Philip Cann Jr. in 1940 (deceased in 1959). She worked for the City of Lead as a Deputy Auditor, and then Secretary to the Homestake Mining Company Mine Superintendent for 17 years before retiring in 1985. She then moved to Sturgis, SD and to Rapid City in 1997. She has two daughters, Nancy Lei (Alvin) and Janice Arnio (Bob), three grandchildren and 4 great-grandsons.
